Welcome to Weird is Beautiful. By accessing this website, requesting an invoice, placing an order, or purchasing any product, live animal, plant, or supply, you agree to be bound by the following Terms & Services. If you do not agree, please do not proceed with a purchase.

By purchasing from Weird is Beautiful, you confirm that:

You have reviewed and understand all applicable federal, state, county, and local laws

 

You accept full responsibility for legal compliance

 

You understand that live animals and live plants involve inherent risk

3. Products & Classifications

 

We sell the following product categories:

 

Live Animals (e.g., jumping spiders)

 

Clean-Up Crew (isopods, springtails)

 

Live Plants

 

Dry Goods (enclosures, décor, accessories, supplies, merchandise)

 

 

Each category carries different shipping requirements and risk levels. Buyers are responsible for understanding these differences prior to purchase.

4. Payments, Invoices & Holds

 

Payments are completed through invoice links

 

Invoices are valid for 10 hours

 

Items are not placed on hold until an invoice is sent

 

Shipping and shipping add-ons are not included in product pricing

 

Unpaid invoices are cancelled and items released

5. Operating Hours & Communication

 

Operating hours: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM EST, Monday–Saturday

 

Messages are answered in the order received

 

Response times may vary due to volume

6. Assumption of Risk – Living Items

 

Live animals, clean-up crew, and live plants are living organisms. Outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

 

Once an item leaves our possession:

 

Responsibility transfers fully to the buyer

 

Transit stress is normal and unavoidable

 

Environmental conditions, handling, and setup affect survival

 

 

Live Animals (Jumping Spiders)

 

Molting, aging, hair loss, and color changes are normal

 

Sex, size, morph, and future coloration are not guaranteed

 

 

Clean-Up Crew (Isopods & Springtails)

 

Minor losses during transit are normal we send extra to cover some losses

 

Population counts are approximate

 

Establishment success depends on enclosure conditions

 

 

Live Plants

 

Leaf drop, wilting, dormancy, and stress are normal

 

Variegation, coloration, and patterning are NOT guaranteed

 

Photos represent the plant at time of listing only

7. Live Arrival Guarantee (LAG)

 

The Live Arrival Guarantee applies only when ALL requirements below are met and applies to live animals, clean-up crew, and plants where applicable.

7.1 Buyer Responsibility – Shipping Add-Ons

 

Buyers are solely responsible for selecting and purchasing appropriate shipping add-ons, including but not limited to:

 

Heat packs

 

Phase packs

 

Cold packs

 

Insulation upgrades

 

 

 Failure to purchase appropriate add-ons VOIDS the Live Arrival Guarantee.

7.2 Buyer Responsibility – Ship-Out Date & Weather

 

Buyers must select a ship-out date that aligns with safe weather conditions at:

 

Seller location

 

Transit hubs

 

Delivery location

 

 

Choosing to ship during freezing or extreme temperatures due to impatience or convenience is done at the buyer’s risk.

 

 Losses caused by unsafe weather selection are NOT covered.

7.3 Delivery Method Risk

 

Residential delivery during extreme temperatures increases risk

 

Hub pickup is recommended during temperature extremes

 

 

 Preventable losses due to delivery choice or refusal to wait are not covered.

7.4 Reporting Windows

 

Home delivery: 1 hour

 

Hub pickup: 2 hours

 

 

Missed reporting windows void LAG eligibility.

7.5 Evidence Requirements

 

All claims require:

 

Clear photos and continuous video

 

Photos of all six sides of the shipping box

 

Visible labels and temperature packs

 

Timestamped delivery or pickup receipt

 

 

Poor or incomplete evidence may result in denial.

7.6 Approved DOA Resolution

 

If approved:

 

Replacement or store credit for item value only

 

Shipping is non-refundable

 

Store credit must be used within 6 months

 

Buyer pays replacement shipping

8. Shipping Policies

 

Shipping occurs Monday–Wednesday only

 

We may delay shipping for safety

 

Carrier delays, weather events, or regulatory actions are beyond our control

9. Delivered Package Responsibility

 

Once marked Delivered, responsibility transfers to the buyer.

We are not responsible for theft, misdelivery, or unattended packages.

10. Returns, Refunds & Cancellations

 

All sales are final

 

No refunds for cancellations

 

No refunds of shipping costs

 

Live items are non-refundable except approved LAG claims

 

 

Live animals may be returned only as a surrender, with no refund and buyer-paid return shipping.

10A. Dry Goods (Non-Living Items) Return Policy

 

Dry goods include enclosures, habitat components, décor, tools, accessories, and merchandise.

 

Dry goods are final sale unless damaged on arrival

 

Damage claims must be reported within 48 hours with clear photos

 

Items must be unused, unassembled, and in original packaging

 

Buyer is responsible for confirming size, compatibility, and intended use

 

Opened, used, installed, or modified items are not returnable

 

Custom or made-to-order items are non-refundable

 

Approved returns (if any) require buyer-paid return shipping

 

Original shipping costs are non-refundable

11. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

 

Filing a chargeback without first contacting us:

 

Voids all guarantees

 

Constitutes a breach of these Terms

 

May result in permanent refusal of future sales

12. Harassment & Conduct

 

Harassment, threats, abusive language, or unreasonable demands will result in termination of communication and refusal of future sales.

13. Policy Supremacy

 

Website policies supersede all private messages, emails, or verbal communication.

14. Force Majeure

 

We are not liable for delays or losses caused by events beyond our control, including weather disasters, carrier failures, or acts of government.

15. Legal Compliance & Restricted States

 

Buyers are solely responsible for complying with all laws related to live animals, clean-up crew, plants, and supplies.

 

No refunds will be issued for confiscation, refusal, destruction, or disposal due to Florida, California, Hawaii, or any state or local law.

16. Limitation of Liability

 

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

 

We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages

 

Buyer assumes all risk once items leave our care

 

We are not responsible for losses after the LAG window

---

 

17. Governing Law

 

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States.

---

 

18. Changes to Terms

 

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time without notice.
